West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen and Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund – how Liverpool could look if Mohamed Salah leaves Premier League club with new contract still uncertain

Liverpool fans will be devastated if Mohamed Salah ever leaves, but a large transfer fee for their top scoring star could see them reinvest and sign some of Europe’s most exciting players.

The 29-year-old goal machine is yet to sign a new contract but has repeatedly – and publicly – said the ball is in Liverpool’s court and has stated his request for a pay rise is not a ‘crazy’ one.

His manager, Jurgen Klopp, is also confident he will sign a new deal and has insisted there is ‘nothing to worry about’.

With that said, as time for a new deal ticks down everyday, the possibility of Salah leaving increases and should that day arrive, the Reds would need to find replacements.

Not only could Salah leave Anfield, but so could his teammates Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, who are also 18 months away from becoming free agents.

Given how reliable Liverpool’s front three have been under Klopp, it is unlikely that the club would let all three players leave. Similar to Salah, though, the longer a new contract isn’t signed, the more it becomes a reality.

The likes of Jude Bellingham and Jarrod Bowen have been linked with the Reds in the past, and the summer of 2022 could see them depart their current clubs for Anfield.

Here, talkSPORT.com looks at how Liverpool could look if the unthinkable does happen and Salah, who has scored 148 goals for the club, leaves.

Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund)

Liverpool are reportedly lining up a £90m offer for the 18-year-old and, according to former Aston Villa striker, Gabriel Agbonlahor, it would be money well spent.

“He’d be worth every penny,” he told talkSPORT.

“He’s 18, he’s going to keep improving. I’ve watched him a few times, he’s unbelievable, and he’s going to keep improving, especially at Dortmund where he’s playing every week.

“I think it makes sense if he goes to Liverpool as well because you have to keep improving.”

Whilst Bellingham isn’t a straight replacement for Salah, his age and potential could see him dominate midfields for many years, and one that would excite many Reds supporters.

Jarrod Bowen (West Ham United)

The 25-year-old is having the season of his life at the London Stadium and is playing a big part in the Hammers’ pursuit of a top four finish.

Bowen’s recent form has seen him tipped to receive his first England call up and should he continue this rich vein of form, he could seal a move to Anfield in the summer.

Liverpool are believed to be considering a mammoth offer for the West Ham star who is also keen on joining the former Premier League champions.

Crucially, he could also be a direct replacement for Salah given that he usually plays on the right wing and cuts in on his stronger left foot.

Bowen is already terrorising defences in the Premier League and could get even better at it under Klopp
