West Ham forward and reported Liverpool target Jarrod Bowen has outplayed Manchester City’s 100million man Jack Grealish this season.

That is the view of talkSPORT pundit and former Premier League striker Dean Ashton, who insists big clubs will be readying their bids for the player if he continues his superb form this term.

Grealish joined City for the British-record fee in the summer, but he’s netted just two Premier League goals in 13 games this term.

Bowen, meanwhile, has three goals and four assists and has been one of the Hammers’ standout performers in their impressive season so far.

The winger’s displays have seen him linked with a switch to Anfield, with the 24-year-old reportedly attracting admiring glances from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

He was unable to make his mark against Arsenal as the Hammers lost 2-0 on Wednesday, but former Norwich and West Ham ace Ashton is in no doubt he’s had a better campaign than Grealish.

Asked if Bowen has played better than Grealish this season, Ashton responded: “Yes, head and shoulders, I would say.

“I would say the difficult thing for Jack Grealish is that he’s having to adapt to a new style, a manager that demands a lot more and a team that’s not going to constantly give him the ball in any area of the pitch.

“He’s got to be more disciplined in that City side and he’s getting to grips with that still.

“But you’d have to say Bowen has been magnificent and when you’re looking at teams now that want to press from the front, he’s outstanding at it.

“He will work and is willing to go back the other way and defend.

“He’s got a great attitude and I think if he continues to do that and improve, continues to be a threat from set plays in terms of his delivery, then he will catch the eye of top sides and also England as well.

“But it’s very difficult when you have so many players fighting for those positions.”
