Said Benrahma nets beautiful whipped free-kick from 25 yards in Europa Conference League as Jarrod Bowen nets stunner of his own for West Ham as they progress in Europa Conference League

Said Benrahma scored a stunning free-kick to send West Ham on their way to a 2-1 win in the Europa Conference League clash with Anderlecht.

The Algerian star has struggled for regular starts under David Moyes this term but was handed a rare outing from the off at the London Stadium and it’s safe to say that he made his mark.

The Hammers were handed a free-kick 25 yards from goal and showing the sort of confidence that earned him a move from Brentford in 2021, he stood over the ball with real intent.

Whipping the ball over the heads of the Anderlecht wall, Benrahma’s effort then dipped fiercely into the bottom right-hand corner of the Belgian side’s net.

East London was delirious, and things got even better 15 minutes later when Jarrod Bowen scored a stunner of his own.

Picking up the ball on the edge of the penalty area, the forward arrowed an effort past Anderlecht goalkeeper Hendrik Van Crombrugge and into the top corner of the net to make it 2-0.

Moyes will no doubt have been delighted with the two strikes, with the goals being enough to earn victory at the London Stadium and see them qualify for the knockout stage.
